Paediatrician Appointment

After a long time of not actually seeing Violet's Paed, today we finally did!

She weighed in at 30.4kg's today.

Just a check up really and to organise for the additional blood tests to check her TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone) level in 1 months time.

The thyroid gland produces two main hormones: T3 and T4.

Having appropriate levels of thyroid hormone is critical for good health. These hormones control the body’s metabolic rate and help regulate body temperature.

TSH is released from the pituitary gland in the brain and stimulates the thyroid gland to release thyroid hormones T3 and T4.

Violet's TSH level was 7.59 (normal range 0.6-5.0) but her thyroid hormone (T4) is normal meaning her pituitary gland in her brain is making addtional TSH for some unknown reason. Guess we will have to wait and see what her next blood test shows...
