Update

This morning we had a review of Violet's pressure ulcer.

Seems the silver dressings are now keeping her ulcer too moist and there was again alot of slough on the wound, so they have decided to go back to using the solosite gel dressings again.

Feels like there is no end in sight.

Here is today's photo after being cleaned.

Sorry to hear about the set back, but hopefully it will be just a little one and Violet will be back to healing again soon!

I can see why you feel like that Sarah...

Its completely ridiculous and unacceptable that almost 4 months after her op Violet is still not up & about on her 'new' foot.

Have/would you consider a second opinion??

Oh Sarah, it is looking a little sloughy isnt it?

Hey I cant remember but have they ever packed the wound? I am interested about why they are not packing the wound to help it heal from the inside out? Maybe because it has been too sloughy and necrotic all of this time.

Oh it must be sooooo frustrating for you and for Violet and that it has been such a set back in terms of her rehabilitation.

I hope the change of dressing is what helps.
hugs xx

They only pack it as such with solosite gel or acticoat depending on what they feel like dressing it with on the day, then the allevyn foam and hyperfix.
