Lord Mayor's Picnic - NYE 08

We were very privileged to be invited through The Spastic Centre to the Lord Mayor's Picnic in the Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney for New Years Eve this year.

It was from 5.00-9.15pm and on arrival to the Botanic Gardens we were greeted by all kinds of magical creatures.

There was heaps of entertainment for the kids and free sausage sizzle, drinks and ice blocks.

At 8.30pm we were ushered down next to the Opera House to watch the fireworks which were great...especially given the fact this is only my 4th fireworks ever seen, sad I know!

They provided free parking which made it easy and the only hard part of the night was trying to get out of Sydney to go home with all the road closures and people just everywhere. Violet was fast asleep while we were busy navigating our way thru Sydney's streets. We ended up heading out of the city over the Sydney Harbour Bridge as it wasn't being closed til later on, which was pretty cool going over it on New Years Eve with the bridge all lit up and all the boats lit up on the Harbour.
