Lumps

Went to hospital today to investigate some lumps that we have noticed under skin in Violet's lower abdomen and collarbone. There are about 6 in abdomen and 1 above her right collarbone.

After seeing Specialist and Dr's today, they believe these lumps have been caused by some kind of trauma, causing a capillary bleed in her Vascular Malformations (Birthmarks).

It was a relief to hear they are nothing more serious!!

They have also organised for a more regular Paediatrician to be involved with her, as the one Violet has already, only see's her every 6 months. They feel she needs to be seen more frequently, given her medical background.

Violet's 2nd Scleral Shell Eye

Picked up Violet's 2nd hand painted Scleral Shell today. It is heaps bigger, so seems her eye structure is growing quite well. Notice the size increase more when you take it out.

Splint Ready!

Violet was measured for her arm splint from Second Skin on the 9th May and today she had her fitting for it.

It's great, fits like a glove and we are already seeing positives from it. When she is wearing splint, she is keeping her arm out-stretched, as until now she would bring her arm up to her shoulder most of the time, so hopefully there will be more results from this splint in the next few months.

She got to choose a picture to put on splint and she chose a 'quackie'. When I took splint off her this afternoon she cried and said "Quackie". So, hopefully she will always want to wear it like this!
