Constraint Induced Movement Therapy Study (CIMT)......Finally!

You may remember a post I made in January of this year about this study.

After almost a year of waiting, the hospital are now ready for Violet to participate in the CIMT Study for children with Cerebral Palsy. We will be having the Baseline Assesment on 3rd January 08 and they will then decide which group she will be put in.

The groups are either CIMT using the mitt or Standard Occupational Therapy. So either way, I think it will be a great opportunity to have some intense therapy and of course hopefully help to see if this kind of therapy will be beneficial for others in years to come.

Unfortunately this means she will have to miss her next botox treatment that was due in March, as they need to be able to see if this CIMT method works without other kinds of interventions.

Congratulations on getting Violet in on this study! I know how much you were looking forward to it. I hope that it does end up helping her a lot.

I just realized how far behind I am on my blog reading, sorry about that. I also need to update mine!
